The Gérard-D. Levesque foundation was created in 1993 to offer financial support to students from the Gaspé and Magdalen Islands, engaged in graduate studies.

The Gérard-D. Levesque foundation was created in 1993 to offer financial support to students from the Gaspé and Magdalen Islands, engaged in graduate studies.
Since its inception, the foundation has expanded its mandate to include all post secondary students, and to help young people from the region access higher education. In collaboration with the government of Quebec, the Gérard-D. Levesque foundation, the Gaspésie–Les Îles community foundation, and the Youth Commission, the Gérard-D. Levesque scholarship fund, totalling over $500 000, was created in 2007.

How to obtain a scholarship

The Gérard-D. Levesque scholarship rewards students from the region based on their academic standing, their community engagement and their commitment to their studies.

The scholarship encourages students to continue their education in a field that will help develop their community, and encourages them to return and stay in the Gaspé and Magdalen Islands. The scholarship also encourages students to study in the region, whenever possible.

The Gérard-D. Levesque scholarship awards a variety of scholarships to students from the Gaspé and Magdalen Islands.
